SUMMARY:PTTC: The Overlap Between Substance Use and Mental Health
DESCRIPTION:The Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) Network works to improve implementation and delivery of effective substance use prevention interventions\, and provide training and technical assistance services to the substance misuse prevention field. \nNearly 1 in 4 adults\, 61.5 million\, in the United States reported having a mental illness in 2024**. Of those 61.5 million\, around a third also reported a co-occurring substance use disorder. \nThis session will look at: \n\nAlcohol as a risk factor for suicide\nMental health risks associated with high potency cannabis use\nWays in which cannabis withdrawal can contribute to ongoing use\nOpportunities for prevention and intervention
