DESCRIPTION:Impact provides live and self-paced CE/CEU/CME courses for all professional levels. \nMany therapists experience a quiet but persistent tremor when a client’s needs begin to stretch beyond the protective container of traditional outpatient work. This moment—often felt long before it is spoken—marks an ethical and clinical threshold where continued outpatient care may no longer be sufficient to ensure safety\, stabilization\, or therapeutic integrity. \nThis 3-hour training is designed to support clinicians at that threshold by grounding level-of-care decisions in ethical clarity\, clinical judgment\, and a nuanced understanding of the care continuum. Participants will explore the ethical responsibilities inherent in assessing acuity\, recognizing the limits of outpatient treatment\, and determining when a higher level of care is clinically and ethically indicated. \nThrough a blend of didactic teaching\, reflective discussion\, and applied frameworks\, clinicians will learn to identify key clinical and behavioral indicators that signal increased risk\, differentiate among levels of care (IOP\, PHP\, residential\, inpatient)\, and navigate the emotional\, relational\, and systemic barriers that can delay necessary transitions. Particular attention is given to ethical decision-making under uncertainty\, scope-of-practice considerations\, consultation\, documentation\, and the risks of both premature referral and delayed action. \nClinicians will also gain practical language for conducting compassionate\, transparent referral conversations that engage clients collaboratively while maintaining appropriate boundaries and preserving the therapeutic alliance. The overarching goal is to help therapists feel less alone—and less paralyzed—at the edge of the bridge\, and more equipped to guide clients toward the level of care that can most safely and effectively hold them. \nThis training emphasizes ethical practice as an active\, relational process rather than a checklist\, supporting clinicians in making decisions that protect client welfare\, reduce risk\, and sustain professional integrity across the continuum of care.

DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1955\, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world. NASW works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members\, to create and maintain professional standards\, and to advance sound social policies. \nSocial workers are serving more individuals on the Autism Spectrum and their families. According to the most recent statistics from the Centers for Disease Control (2025)\, 1 in 31 children aged eight in the United States are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ASD occurs across all racial\, ethnic\, and socioeconomic groups (CDC\, 2025). In the past\, the goal of therapists working with children on the Autism Spectrum was to help them manage their behavior and match their neurotypical peers developmentally (Wagland et al.\,2025). However\, this approach was not always successful (Wagland et. al.\, 2025). Now\, social workers are expanding their practices to include neurodiversity-affirming techniques that acknowledge the strengths of individuals on the Autism Spectrum and are creating more inclusive and accepting environments (Wagland et al.\, 2025). During this interactive workshop\, participants will learn about the characteristics\, strengths\, and challenges that children and adults on the Autism Spectrum face. A review of neurodiversity-affirming techniques used to support individuals on the Autism Spectrum and their families will be described. Case studies and examples of successful neurodiversity-affirming techniques used by social workers will be highlighted\, and participants will have the opportunity to practice. The goal of this workshop is for participants to leave with a toolbox of neurodiversity-affirming techniques to support individuals on the Autism Spectrum and their families.

DESCRIPTION:Impact provides live and self-paced CE/CEU/CME courses for all professional levels. \n  \nMany professionals throughout the United States are mandated reporters of suspected child maltreatment. However\, the legal requirement to report is often confusing to navigate in relation to our other professional and ethical responsibilities. This workshop provides profession-based context to the role of mandated reporter where professionals are charged with knowing how to support their clients and when they are required to report a concern to child protective services. Mandated reporters will learn a framework to guide the decision to make this “tough call” using research findings and practical advice based on real case examples. \nThe New York State Education Department (NYSED) has amended Section 413 of the Social Services Law to require training on recognizing abuse or neglect in children with intellectual or developmental disabilities. As a result\, all mandated reporters are now required to complete an updated training workshop by November 17\, 2026. This training meets the updated New York State standards.

DESCRIPTION:Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) is a leader in the training of professionals in the human service\, behavioral health and judicial sectors\, we provide a broad spectrum of trainings to more than 18\,000 individuals annually throughout New York City and nationwide. \n  \nThe nature of case management services varies widely\, yet there are core values and fundamental components to which all case managers should adhere.  Using the National Association of Social Worker’s (NASW) Standards for Case Management as a guiding vision\, this training offers new case managers an opportunity to learn fundamental concepts of a helping relationship with a focus on strength-based and person-centered services.  The training offers an overview of the ethics and values of case management and builds a foundation for effectively working in health and human services. It also offers skills and strategies for establishing professional boundaries and explores the most current trends in behavioral health\, including wellness as a guiding vision.  Attendees will leave the training with a better understanding of the role of case management.

DESCRIPTION:The Crisis Systems Response Training and Technical Assistance Center (CSR-TTAC) provides support to states\, territories\, tribal organizations\, and community partners across the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline network and behavioral health crisis continuum of care. The goal of the CSR-TTAC is to support a crisis care system that is integrated\, sustainable\, equitable\, and aligned around evidence-based and evidenced-informed practices. \nIn the high‑stakes moments of crisis response\, ethical clarity is essential. This session grounds participants in core ethical principles: autonomy\, justice\, beneficence\, nonmaleficence\, fidelity\, and veracity and demonstrates how to apply them in real‑world decision points across the crisis continuum. We’ll examine scenarios such as balancing a 988 caller’s autonomy with duty‑to‑report and imminent‑risk obligations; making on‑scene determinations about involuntary transport or escalation; and navigating admission decisions at crisis receiving facilities when capacity is limited. Throughout\, we’ll emphasize trauma‑informed\, recovery‑oriented practices that protect dignity and build trust with people and communities\, urban and rural alike.
