Justice Clearinghouse: Holding the Line: A Roundtable on the Strain in Victim Services – 1 CEU
Victim service providers at every level, national, state, and local, are grappling with the painful reality of doing more with less. Federal and state cuts to basic safety net resources are leaving survivors with impossible choices: staying in unsafe environments, facing financial collapse, or returning to abusive situations. At the same time, programs that serve them are facing staff shortages, reduced funding, and overwhelming demand.
This candid roundtable brings together leaders from across the field to discuss how they’re navigating these challenges. While there are no easy answers, we’ll explore the tough decisions being made around prioritizing services, de-emphasizing certain populations, and adapting expectations in a time when workloads continue to grow and resources continue to shrink. Most importantly, this conversation will create space for connection and solidarity, a reminder that none of us are in this alone.
Join us to hear how others are weathering the storm, to share your experience, and to be part of a community that is holding the line together.
From the officer on patrol to animal welfare and control professionals, social services caseworkers, jail and corrections staff, and probation officers, even the academics who research and study this sector, the Justice Clearinghouse helps justice and public safety professionals keep up with the trends, best practices, and success stories shaping their work through articles, webinars, and training.
