Making New York City’s criminal justice system smaller, safer, and fairer depends on great community partners. But their success depends on support from the city.
Community-based service providers deliver critical services to justice-impacted New Yorkers, including wraparound services for individuals awaiting trial in community, safe and stable emergency transitional housing, reentry support, and workforce development opportunities, such as commercial driver’s license training during incarceration.
That’s why the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice has prioritized speed and transparency on vendor payments, recently achieving 100% registration of its contracts as Fiscal Year 2027 kicks off. At the same time, the agency reduced its average payment time to under two weeks, well ahead of the city’s Net 30 requirement, which sets a 30-day benchmark for payments.
