- Serves people with non-violent and violent felony charges
- Located citywide

Why?
FTAP aims to strengthen community safety and ensure survivor-centered approaches in firearm-related domestic violence cases by promoting best practices in firearm relinquishment, risk assessment, and survivor safety planning.
Overview
Implemented in Brownsville, Brooklyn in collaboration with Help ROADS, a non-residential gender-based violence organization, and local law enforcement, FTAP aims to reduce firearm-related domestic violence harm through trauma-informed services, survivor advocacy, and collaborative intervention strategies.
Help ROADS provides a range of services, including individual and group counseling, court accompaniment, parenting classes, creative safety planning, and crisis intervention for survivors of gender-based violence.
Through FTAP, Help ROADS also facilitates e-filing of Orders of Protection and supports survivors with U.S. Office of Victim Services claims—enhancing access to legal remedies and resources.

By diverting eligible individuals into community-based services, FTAP:
- Provides direct financial support and technical assistance to selected sites, to aid the implementation of best practices.
- Encourages collaboration between community organizations, particularly those serving underserved populations.
- Supports the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence and firearms, which offers resources such as model protocols and successful approaches for addressing firearms.
