Healthcare providers have a unique role in addressing and preventing violence. In this course, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of intimate partner violence and learn to recognize the many health impacts on individual survivors and communities.

We’ll explore the limitations of conventional domestic violence screening protocols and equip you with the tools to offer a more survivor-centered approach, CUES. Through practical guidance, you’ll leave this course equipped to take the first steps toward implementing CUES in your healthcare context and fostering partnerships with community-based programs that promote health, safety, and healing.

CUES (Confidentiality, Universal Education, and Support) is an approach to addressing intimate partner and sexual violence in healthcare settings that encourages and equips providers to talk with all patients about safe and healthy relationships, the elements of healthy and unhealthy relationships, the health effects of violence, health promotionstrategies, and most importantly – how to get support
