Benefits Plus Learning Center: Cash Assistance Application Process – 2 CEU

Once a client appears to meet the eligibility criteria for the Cash Assistance program, it’s time to file the application!

This course will discuss the ways to apply for Cash Assistance in New York City and the different steps that are required, including the eligibility interview, child support requirements, eligibility verification (BEV), screening for substance abuse and domestic violence, and finally work rules.

We will cover the rules for each requirement and potential penalties for not complying. Lastly, we will discuss strategies and advocacy tips.

Cash Assistance for Beginners is a recommended prerequisite for all eligibility factors of the Cash Assistance program.

Target Audience: Social service and legal professionals who understand the eligibility requirements for Cash Assistance who are looking for details in the application process.
