The NYC Justice Training Institute (JTI) is a new training hub for professionals supporting justice-impacted New Yorkers at every stage of the criminal legal system, including through pretrial services and holistic post-incarceration support.
Together, the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice and the CUNY Institute for State and Local Governance designed JTI to equip service providers, licensed professionals, and support staff with the tools to:
- Address complex mental and behavioral health needs
- Improve care coordination
- Help prevent future violence and crises
These interdisciplinary training opportunities, offered live and on-demand, are grounded in evidence-informed practices that improve service engagement, enhance care coordination, and reduce gaps in services — all key drivers of a fairer justice system and long-term public safety.
